Walk forward.
I stood against that wall. Leaned on it. Pressed myself into it. And what I saw was more…
Past the door that blocked me I saw a long corridor – a hallway stretching into forever, and it was filled with the warmth, and light, and glory of God. And the entire way down this hall there were doors. Open doors, each one leading further down into something more spectacular, that much more awesome.
But here we still are. Standing still. Jammed in this hot, cramped, stuffy room. Satisfied with the stale air of that which is already known to us. Only willing to experience the things that will fit within the dimensions of the box we call our comfort zone. And at this point in our journey, upon reaching this door, we believe that we have finally hit the end. Look at us! We’ve finally made it!
But it’s not true. There’s so much more.
There are things beyond this door far beyond our wildest imagination, our greatest hopes, our most farfetched dreams, our most heartfelt desires. And these things are addressed to the children of the Living God! He is calling us further in. Closer.
So what do we have to do to get there? -Good deeds? -Not sin? -Prove ourselves worthy? -Change the world? …No. …No. Not really. All we need to do is hunger for more – to not be satisfied with the little taste of God’s holiness that we’ve managed to grasp. All we need to do is see the door, knock, and then take that step in. If we truly desire to press into God’s glory, then he cannot hold himself back! Ask, and you will receive! SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND! KNOCK… knock… if only you would knock, the door will open.
